Many Japanese teens and young adults follow the Lolita fashion subculture, and often can been seen in the area around the Harajuku Station on the JR Yamanote Line in Tokyo, Japan.

Lolita fashion is a manner of dress heavily influenced by Victorian or Rococo styles from the 19th Century with the adherents presenting themselves as cute or beautiful. Various styles have evolved within the Lolita fashion movement including Gothic Lolita, Sweet Lolita, Classic Lolita, Punk Lolita, Wa Lolita (modified komono or hakama), Qi Lolita (modified Chinese dress), Oji-sama (boystyle or prince style), Hime (princess style), Guro Lolita (broken doll or innocent gore), and Sailor Lolita.
